Hunton Represents U.S. Bancorp Investments, Inc. in Connection with Mississippi Power Company Tax-Exempt Remarketing

Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP acted as counsel to U.S. Bancorp Investments, Inc., as remarketing agent, in connection with the remarketing of $42,625,000 Mississippi Business Finance Corporation Pollution Control Revenue Refunding Bonds, Series 2002 (Mississippi Power Company Project) (the “Bonds”). The Bonds were initially issued to provide funds to refinance the acquisition, construction, installation and equipping of the interest of Mississippi Power Company (“Mississippi Power”) in certain air and water pollution control and sewage and solid waste disposal facilities.

Mississippi Power is a wholly owned subsidiary of The Southern Company. Mississippi Power is engaged in the generation, transmission, distribution, and purchase of electricity and the sale of electric service within 23 counties of southeastern Mississippi, at retail in 123 communities (including Biloxi, Gulfport, Hattiesburg, Laurel, Meridian and Pascagoula), as well as in rural areas, and at wholesale.
