Hunton & Williams LLP Represents Spanish Bank BBVA in a US$100 million Financing to Chilean Entities

Miami, FL -- March 17, 2008 -- Hunton & Williams LLP recently represented Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria, S.A. (“BBVA”), as lender, in a credit facility in the amount of US$100 million to Chilean entities Inversiones Costa Verde Limitada y Cie en C.P.A., Inversiones del Buen Retiro, S.A. and Immobilaria e Inversiones Asturias, S.A.

“Through financings like this, BBVA once again demonstrates its continued support of its large corporate clients throughout Latin America,” said Fernando C. Alonso, partner in Hunton & Williams' Miami office and head of the firm's Latin America practice group. Mr. Alonso, along with associate Uriel A. Mendieta, led the team for Hunton & Williams. Also providing support for the legal team was Javier Edwards, BBVA's Managing Director of Legal Services in New York.

The borrowers were represented by Chilean counsel Matías De Marchena of Claro y Cia.

With over 7,500 offices in more than 30 countries, BBVA is Spain's second-largest bank and the world's 11th largest based on market capitalization.
