Hunton Brussels Seminar on an Update of the EU Standard Contractual Clauses for Data Transfers

On June 12, 2019, Hunton Andrews Kurth and its Centre for Information Policy Leadership (“CIPL”) will host a roundtable discussion in the firm’s Brussels office on the update of the EU Standard Contractual Clauses for international data transfers. The seminar will feature Ms. Cristina Monti, Policy Officer in the International Data Flows and Protection Unit of the EU Commission DG Justice and Consumers. Participants will:

  • Hear about the latest updates on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU Commission’s work to update these clauses in light of the EU General Data Protection Regulation;
  • Share practical experience on the efficiency, workability and challenges of the current Standard Contractual Clauses and provide insights and expectations for the updated versions; and
  • Provide input on the need to develop other sets of Standard Contractual Clauses (e.g., EU processor-to-subprocessor clauses).
