As posted earlier today on Hunton & Williams' Retail and Privacy blogs, and as reported in Law360, Hunton & Williams announces the formation of a cross-disciplinary legal team dedicated to guiding companies through the minefield of regulatory and cyber-related risks associated with high-stakes corporate mergers and acquisitions.

The new team brings together the firm’s renowned capabilities in privacy and cybersecurity with its recognized strength in M&A transactions. The mobilization of this seasoned team responds to a current environment characterized by heightened regulatory pressure and escalated risk of cyber attacks, which have combined to increase demand for the firm’s capabilities in these two areas of strength.

The cross-disciplinary team is complimented by the firm’s robust insurance coverage team, whose members have long-advised on many of the firm’s most significant M&A transactions as well as liaising with the firm’s privacy and cybersecurity team.  The new firm initiative is another example of the synergistic approach that Hunton & Williams utilizes to provide clients with the most thorough representation available.
