US DOE Selection of Regional Hydrogen Hubs
On October 13, 2023, the US Department of Energy (DOE) announced the selection of seven regional hydrogen hubs to enter negotiations to receive up to $7 billion in Bipartisan Infrastructure Law funding as part of the Regional Clean Hydrogen Hubs (H2Hubs) program. This timely article provides an overview of the seven hydrogen hub projects that were selected, the insights that such selections provide on how DOE sees the market for hydrogen unfolding over the coming years, and the next steps for such hubs (and specific projects at such hubs) to ultimately receive funding.
